Self-driving Honda Cars Are Closer Than Ever Before

Self-driving Honda Cars Are Closer Than Ever Before

More and more automakers are throwing their hand into the self-driving car market, and Honda is no exception. In fact, recently, Honda has expressed interest in working with Google on their Waymo project, which focuses on autonomous vehicles.

Waymo reportedly already makes use of self-driving sensors, self-driving software, and an advanced computing platform, which would certainly help Honda catapult to the head of the game. These tech features are already being tested on United States soil, and soon, they could be tested in a Honda model.

Honda even announced recently that they would like to have self-driving vehicles on the road by 2020, which is getting closer every day, in an aim to reach a “collision-free” society. Not only would self-driving cars be convenient, but also, they would be much safer.

With automated sensor systems, self-driving vehicles would be able to communicate with each other instantaneously, avoiding collisions with both other cars and street obstacles. There’s no telling how many lives could be saved if there was an enormous shift toward self-driving cars on the road.

Would you like to see self-driving Honda cars on the market? Let us know what you think, or come visit us to check out one of our many currently available (driver-required – of course!) vehicles. We’d be happy to set you up on a test drive!

Honda Releases New 2017 Honda Pilot Information

2017 Honda Pilot information

While the new Honda Pilot for the upcoming model year isn’t entering a new generation or getting a redesign, customers will be happy to know from the brand’s recently shared 2017 Honda Pilot information that the SUV is getting quite a few upgrades and improvements. From expanding its powertrain options to getting new safety and tech features, the 2017 Honda Pilot has a lot of new things to offer that it didn’t last year, so make sure to check it out.

The 2017 Pilot already had an engine in its lineup that delivered 280 horsepower: the 3.5-liter direct injection i-VTEC. Now, however, buyers have another option in a 220-horsepower 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle inline-4 engine. Both engines can be paired with either the standard six-speed or an available nine-speed automatic. Additionally, the new Honda Pilot also gets several new driver assist features such as lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control, plus compatibility with smartphone systems like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The release of 2017 Pilot information came ahead of its release. It’s available now at dealerships across the country at a price of $30,595 for the base LX trim. Other options, such as all-wheel drive and more equipped models, add more to the cost as you move up.

Redesigned 2017 Honda CR-V to Arrive This Winter

The redesigned Honda CR-V is expected to arrive at dealerships in winter and it’s sure to be something fierce. The all-new fifth-generation small SUV will boast improved fuel economy, performance, and plenty of other upgrades that set it apart from the pack. The 2017 Honda CR-V will feature a more aggressive stance, upgraded technologies, and much more.

The new Honda CR-V will boast a wider, more athletic look with LED headlights and taillights that accent the new styling. Inside, drivers can expect to see premium materials, like a soft-touch instrument panel, as well as a new infotainment system. The CR-V will also feature Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

Honda is expecting best-in-class fuel economy ratings from both the turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. The latter engine also debuted in the new Honda Civic. Both engines will be mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission.

Since its introduction in 1997, the Honda CR-V has become the bestselling SUV in the United States with nearly four million units sold. This year, sales are up 1.5%.

New Honda Odyssey Changes Coming for 2017

Honda Odyssey changes
The current 2016 Honda Odyssey.

The Honda Odyssey is one of the most beloved minivans on the market, and people on the hunt for a new minivan are going to be treated to the newest model within the next couple of months. Although Honda Odyssey changes have already been announced, there are still some questions about what exactly it is going to look like.

One thing that you can likely expect is an upgrade to the technology features in the van. As more and more companies sign on with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, expect that upgrade to hit the 2017 Odyssey as well.

It’s also possible that the new vehicle is going to feature more Honda Sensing technology to make the vehicle safer. While the previous model featured the Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning, this year’s model may feature new technology like the Collision Mitigation Braking System.

The exterior of the car is going to be a bit different than last year’s model, and we expect some design changes and possible changes to the lighting.

As the van will be released in the next couple of months, the speculation will be coming to an end. It’s an exciting time for Honda, so be on the lookout for the changes that they make to the 2017 Odyssey.
