While the new Honda Pilot for the upcoming model year isn’t entering a new generation or getting a redesign, customers will be happy to know from the brand’s recently shared 2017 Honda Pilot information that the SUV is getting quite a few upgrades and improvements. From expanding its powertrain options to getting new safety and tech features, the 2017 Honda Pilot has a lot of new things to offer that it didn’t last year, so make sure to check it out.
The 2017 Pilot already had an engine in its lineup that delivered 280 horsepower: the 3.5-liter direct injection i-VTEC. Now, however, buyers have another option in a 220-horsepower 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle inline-4 engine. Both engines can be paired with either the standard six-speed or an available nine-speed automatic. Additionally, the new Honda Pilot also gets several new driver assist features such as lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control, plus compatibility with smartphone systems like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The release of 2017 Pilot information came ahead of its release. It’s available now at dealerships across the country at a price of $30,595 for the base LX trim. Other options, such as all-wheel drive and more equipped models, add more to the cost as you move up.
Honda models are designed to be family friendly, one of the many reasons the Civic and Pilot recently earned awards for their family-oriented design. The latest comes from Parents Magazine and Edmunds.com, which recognized the Civic and Pilot in their list of the 10 Best Family Cars.
According to Honda, the Civic’s safety features were the major reason for the award. These include technologies like the Honda Sensing™ suite with features like automatic emergency braking. The Civic was also given a 5-Star Overall Rating in safety from both the NCAP and the NHTSA, and it was named a Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS.
The 2016 Pilot is just as impressive, offering dynamic handling and a refreshed exterior design. It also comes with the same Honda Sensing technologies, Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™), and a standard multi-angle rearview camera. Named a Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS and awarded a 5-star rating from the NHTSA, the Pilot is incredibly safe.
It’s no wonder both the Pilot and Civic were included on the list of the 10 Best Family Cars by Edmunds and Parents Magazine. Thanks to their unparalleled safety, you get added peace of mind when you drive a Honda.

As discussed in a story on The Anniston Star this week, the 2016 Honda Pilot not only helped our dealership have a great year, but it helped Honda’s sales too. In 2015, Honda sold a record 1.59 million vehicles, and the Pilot saw a 25.1% increase in sales over 2014.
“I have never seen a car with this much demand. 2015 was a very good year for us.” our General Sales Manager Dan Jordan told The Anniston Star.
The 2016 Honda Pilot is manufactured right here in Alabama, at the plant located in Talladega County. With five trim levels and loads of standard features, it’s obvious why the Pilot is such a big hit. New safety features and tons of cargo space make the all-new Honda Pilot the perfect family vehicle.

For 2016, Honda completely redesigned their full-size crossover, the Pilot. When we say completely redesigned, we mean it. The Pilot sheds its boxy looks and welcomes a rounder styling. Both inside and out, there are a lot of new things to see in the 2016 Pilot.
The all-new 2016 Honda Pilot comes in five trim levels, each offering more and more standard features. The comfort and convenience is there even in the base model. Your family and friends will appreciate riding around in your new SUV, and you’ll love driving around town in it. Inside you’ll find soft-touch materials and a quiet, smooth ride.
There’s even a new trim level called Elite. The Elite trim level makes you feel like the captain of a luxurious ship. With heated first and second-row seats, you and your passengers will ride comfortably. The front-row seats are also ventilated, making life in warm weather even better. You’ll also find that the Elite trim level comes standard with a panoramic sunroof, second-row captain’s chairs, a heated steering wheel and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross traffic alerts.
The Pilot also offers some great available safety features on all trim levels excluding the base model, the LX. The Honda LaneWatch blind-spot camera is standard, and the Honda Sensing Package is also available. The advanced safety package comes with forward collision warning, a forward collision mitigation system with automatic braking, road departure intervention, and lane departure warning and intervention systems.
