Winter Driving Tips

Winter Driving Tips

Whether you’re a new driver or veteran driver, it’s always important to review how to drive in winter weather. Road conditions can change suddenly, and it’s easy to lose focus, especially if the road seems clear. Take these winter driving tips from us here at Sunny King Honda. You’ll be glad you did!

  1. Slow Down! It takes longer to stop in winter, especially if the roads are covered with ice or snow. Keep a safe distance (seven to 10 car lengths, if possible) and stay aware of your surroundings. You never know when the person in front of you will hit the brakes.
  2. Follow Plows. While you may not want to get smacked with snow, it’s important not to pass snow plows. Considering the plow itself extends about 10 feet on either side of the truck, odds are you may not be able to pass anyway. The road behind the plow is always better than the road in front. Take your time and let the plow take care of business.
  3. Watch the Weather. Knowledge is power so knowing what to expect when you walk out the door every morning is the best weapon you have. Winter weather can change suddenly so keeping up to date will keep you on the road (or off of it) and safe!

Sunny King Honda Collects Toys for Tots

Sunny King Honda Collects Toys for Tots

Sunny King Honda is proud to be a donation site for Toys for Tots this year! Now through December 7th, you can donate a new, unwrapped toy at our dealership for Toys for Tots.

The Toys for Tots program is a long standing tradition of the Holiday season. Organized by the US Marine Corps, Toys for Tots collects toys for underprivileged children so they can experience the joy of Christmas. The toys give children who are less fortunate a message of hope, which the program hopes will assist them in becoming “responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.”

The Marines have been collecting toys since 1947, and the Toys for Tots program became an official mission of the Marine Corps Reserves in 1995. Donations take place in over 700 communities around the country throughout October, November and December. Each community has a designated coordinator who is responsible for planning, organizing and conducting the campaign. Once the toys have been collected, they are then sorted by age and gender. At Christmas, the toys are then distributed to children of the community who are less fortunate.

Want to get involved? Bring your Toys for Tots donations to Sunny King Honda now through December 7th and get $5 off an oil change.
