Trick or Treat Safety Tips

Trick or treat safety tips

Halloween conjures up images of all kinds of fun things: candy, costumes, smiles on kids’ faces, and all of the festivities surrounding the holiday. While it brings tremendous amounts of joy to children and adults alike, it is also important to take the proper safety measures to ensure that the holiday remains fun. Take a look at the following few trick or treat safety tips:

Plan a Route

Whether you are going with your child or sending them off on their own, it’s helpful to have a route planned out in advance to avoid any confusion.

Follow the Light

Make sure your child knows to stay in well-lit areas where people can see them.

Wear Comfortable Shoes

While some kids walk and trick or treat, others like to run from house to house to gather as much candy as possible. Make sure children are in comfortable shoes that won’t cause them to trip or injure themselves.

Check the Candy

At the end of the night, check the candy before your child consumes anything. Throw away candy that has been unwrapped or looks suspicious in any way.

Above all else, have fun. Your child only gets a limited amount of Halloween nights where they can trick or treat, so let them enjoy the evening to the fullest. You can even live vicariously through them.

New Honda Odyssey Changes Coming for 2017

Honda Odyssey changes
The current 2016 Honda Odyssey.

The Honda Odyssey is one of the most beloved minivans on the market, and people on the hunt for a new minivan are going to be treated to the newest model within the next couple of months. Although Honda Odyssey changes have already been announced, there are still some questions about what exactly it is going to look like.

One thing that you can likely expect is an upgrade to the technology features in the van. As more and more companies sign on with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, expect that upgrade to hit the 2017 Odyssey as well.

It’s also possible that the new vehicle is going to feature more Honda Sensing technology to make the vehicle safer. While the previous model featured the Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning, this year’s model may feature new technology like the Collision Mitigation Braking System.

The exterior of the car is going to be a bit different than last year’s model, and we expect some design changes and possible changes to the lighting.

As the van will be released in the next couple of months, the speculation will be coming to an end. It’s an exciting time for Honda, so be on the lookout for the changes that they make to the 2017 Odyssey.
