MotorWeek’s Drivers’ Choice Award Highlights

2018 Honda Odyssey | Sunny King Honda | Anniston, AL

Every year, since 1983, MotorWeek has presented its Drivers’ Choice Awards. These awards are handed out to the best vehicle from each segment depending on what you—the drivers—really want from a car. According to their website, this includes “price, practicality, performance and fuel efficiency.” This year’s awards made several worthy mentions of vehicles that we have here at Sunny King Honda.

Best Minivan – Honda Odyssey

The 2018 Honda Odyssey was all-new for this model year, which is one of the reasons it was chosen by MotorWeek as their winner in this category. New comfort, new safety, new technology, and new family-oriented features all make this an excellent family hauler.

Best Small Car – Honda Civic

Thanks to its consistent reliability and intelligent design, the Honda Civic wins the Best Small Car award for the third year in a row. That’s, in part, is thanks to versatile variants including the Civic Si and the Type R Hatchback.

Best Family Sedan – Honda Accord

It turns out that the Honda Odyssey isn’t the only top-rated family hauler in the Honda lineup. The mid-size Honda Accord offers plenty of luxurious features, advanced technology and safety, and an efficient performance for a sedan that can’t help but stand out.

2018 Honda Odyssey’s Safety Features

2018 Honda Odyssey

The 2018 Honda Odyssey arrives completely redesigned this year. Some notable changes include sliding second-row seats, lots of new technology, and available premium features to make the Odyssey more sophisticated than ever.

As for the Honda Odyssey’s safety, it has never been better. IIHS named it a 2017 Top Safety Pick+.

Standard features on all models include anti-lock brakes, a rearview camera, stability control, front-impact airbags, overhead airbags, side impact airbags, knee airbags, anti-whiplash head restraints, seatbelt pretensioners, and an ignition-disabling security system.

Beyond these basic features, there are a lot of available safety features. The EX trim, which is just one step above the base LX trim, comes equipped with blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and intervention, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning and mitigation.

For even more security, the Touring model comes equipped with front and rear parking sensors and HondaLink services. HondaLink adds extra peace of mind with mobile features that include Automatic Collision Notification, Personal Data Wipe that can reset your navigation system, enhanced roadside assistance with live help, and more.
