Keep Your Car Running with These Spring Car Care Tips

Spring Car Care Tips

As the winter weather begins to wind down, we’re finally able to start looking forward to spring. To get us ready for the warmer weather — and to keep your vehicle running as smoothly as possible — we thought we’d share some spring car care tips.

Give your car a spring cleaning

Deep cleans don’t only have to occur in your home – you should also clean your car inside and out when the weather gets warmer. Give it a good exterior wash and wax, then follow that up by tidying your cabin. Throw out any trash that you might have collected in the winter and vacuum to pick up any salt or dirt that found its way into your vehicle.

Check your tires

Warmer weather means that your tire pressure can fluctuate, increasing after the cold winter – especially if you filled your tires during the winter to compensate for lower pressure readings. As the roads get slicker, too, it’s important to make sure your tires are wearing properly and get them rotated if you haven’t recently.

Change your wiper blades

Spring showers mean your windshield wipers need to be in good working order. Make sure your wipers don’t have any cracks or wear and, if they do, go ahead and replace them with new ones.

If your car needs further care, or if you’d rather just let someone else take care of it, don’t hesitate to schedule a service appointment at Sunny King Honda. We’ll make sure your car is ready for the warmer weather!

Spring Car Care Tips

Spring is here, and with the weather warming up it’s time to do a few easy maintenance tasks to help our cars recover from the harsh winter months. Follow these spring car care tips to get your car ready for the warm weather!

First of all, if you have winter-specific parts on your car, like winter tires and winter wipers, it’s a good time to change them out for all-season ones. Winter tires don’t work well in warm weather because their rubber is too soft, and winter wipers are better for snow than rain.

If you haven’t had an oil and filter change recently, get one now—your oil is probably dirty, since cold weather makes your engine work overtime. While you’re at it, have your fluids topped off and checked for leaks. You should also have your battery tested to make sure it’s still going strong.

Spring cleaning isn’t just for your house! Give your car a thorough wash inside and out to make your windows easier to see through and prevent rust from the buildup of salt and other chemicals on your car’s exterior.

Check your air conditioning. You’ll want it working before the hot weather hits, so if something is wrong with it, get it fixed ASAP! If you need to schedule spring service for your car, give us a call at Sunny King Honda.
