One task you should do is have your brakes checked. Fallen leaves, rain, snow and ice are frequent hazards of fall and winter weather, which make things much more slippery. Good brakes can be the difference between getting in an accident and avoiding one. If your brake pads or thin or you have other issues, get it repaired before the weather gets any worse.
Make sure your headlights and taillights are working, and if you notice they’re foggy or dirty, now is a great time to clean them. In snowstorms, fog, and other bad weather, you want to make sure you can see well, and that other cars can see you.
Get an oil change if you’re due for one, and change your wiper blades. If you live in a snow-heavy area or if you’re traveling to one, then you might want to consider winter wiper blades, which are better at combatting snow and ice.
Check Your Battery
Finally, have both your battery and your heating and cooling systems checked. Not only is this important for staying warm, but it also keeps your engine at a normal temperature. And batteries are much more vulnerable to dying in cold weather, so if it’s old or weak, consider replacing it.
These are just a few maintenance tasks you should complete during the fall. For more fall service tips, reach out to us at Sunny King Honda!

The Accord earned the most awards, gaining recognition in seven areas.
“Honda’s extensive portfolio of cars and SUVs, as well as its truck and minivan, top decades of reliability and strong resale value with fun-to-drive appeal and thoughtful touches,” wrote KBB.com editors. “The Accord, Civic, CR-V, HR-V, Fit, Odyssey, Pilot and Ridgeline all won awards this year—including four Best Buy Awards—for a jaw-dropping 28 accolades.”

For the 2018 model year, the popular Honda Accord is being redesigned. This next-generation model will offer buyers a more modern car with some great updates. One notable change is that Honda will no longer offer an Accord coupe model.
Buyers will get to choose from two turbocharged four-cylinder engine or a hybrid powertrain. In addition, there are three transmission options: manual, continuously variable transmission (CVT), or automatic. Honda will officially release efficiency information closer to the fall; however, we expect to see some gains in fuel economy, based on these updates.
Safety-wise, the Accord is receiving another big update. Honda says nearly 55 percent of the Accord’s structure will be made from high-strength steel to help withstand the forces of an accident. Additionally, every model will come standard with HondaSensing technology. This technology includes a rearview camera, adaptive cruise control, a forward collision warning system with automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition technology, and more.
Inside, drivers will find an 8-inch Display Audio touchscreen system that works in a similar way to a smartphone, making it even more user-friendly.
The all-new, redesigned 2018 Honda Accord will be coming to Sunny King Honda this fall. Give us a call today if you want to be one of the first in line to take home this next-generation model.
The school year is right around the corner. If you are still counting down the days, here are a few tips on how to prepare for back-to-school season.
Get Supplies. Every school and classroom usually has a unique list of the supplies needed for the year. Make sure you get everything your child needs so they can have a great start.
Start early. If your kids barely got to school on time last year, plan to start the morning routine 10-15 minutes earlier to give you more breathing room and less stress.
Get homework done. Create a space for your kids to do their homework. If they have a specific area that has all the supplies they need (pencils, erasers, calculators, etc.), they will likely have more success.
Stay organized. Create a family calendar in a common space. Try using a large white board with color-coded markers for each member of the family.
Out with the old. If your kids are getting new school clothes, help them go through their drawers and closet and pack up clothes that are too small or out of season. This will make it easier for them to find the right clothes for school.
If you love the exhilarating rush of a powerful engine, you’ll love the Honda Civic Type R. It has all the features of a Honda Civic that you’d want while giving you that extra thrill that racecar enthusiasts love.
The Type R is special. Why? Because it’s the very first production Honda Civic Type R in the United States. That means it’s officially hitting American streets for the first time ever. To give back, Honda donated the very first Type R to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation so that they could auction it off.
You can get the Type R for yourself without bidding, though. And you won’t regret it. The Type R’s engineering lets you handle roads like a pro with features like limited-slip differential and a wide wheelbase for more control. All of these intelligent engineering features help this Type R take tight turns and corners smoothly.
The Type R’s turbocharged engine delivers 306 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful street-legal cars that Honda has put on the road. Even with all that power, the Type R still sports efficiency.
